Wheel's Reels

      Tommy Wheeler, an avid fisherman who grew up loving the sport of fishing,
established Wheel's Reels Incorporated in 2003. Wheel's Reels Incorporated was a result
of pairing his passion for fishing with his Physics degree from Davidson College in North
Carolina to create a company producing a line of products by fishermen for fishermen.
At that time, we were driven by a need to improve the performance of the stock Diawa
SHV-30 reel to obtain better casting distance and control. So, we developed a magnetic
sideplate that enabled us to cast further and be where the fish are!

      In the beginning, we were in it to develop the growth of our own fishing abilities, and
the great thing is, that's what keeps us here today. We take our passion for the sport,
along with identified improvement needs and intertwine that with our products. All this,
leads us down the paths to product research and development and ultimately marketing
our final products into the hands of avid fishermen like you. This is a hobby that turned into
a business - as they say, find what you love, then find a way to make a living at it. If it
weren't fun and if we didn't feel we were producing quality products, we wouldn't still
be doing it. We're here to make the most tricked out, bad-ass fishing equipment you can buy!

      We're deep-rooted in the Outer Banks of North Carolina - that's where we primarily
fish and it's where we test our products. We've made great friends and fishing buddies
out there . . . and we have a vast array of "characters" from the Outer Banks that we get
to "break" our stuff! As a result of all that testing, our products evolve into what they are
today. We take great pride in our products and feel our end user will be pleased with their
purchase. Our guarantee is: If it breaks, we'll make it right.

      Our original sideplate, which can still be purchased today, eventually led us into other
facets of the fishing business. Now, we are a full service fishing company that provides
everything from sideplates, to bearings, to replacement crossbars, to fishing rods. Our
fishing rods are what we believe will revolutionize the industry with an economical
carbon fiber product. There is a lot of expertise in what we do and without our engineers
and their forward thinking, we wouldn't be accomplishing all that we are. Next, on the
forefront, will be our own reel design - we're always thinking and dreaming!
